Senior Merchandiser----Bulk (1 vacancy)
He / She
will be responsible for managing bulk order processes from order placement,
order follow-up through shipment. The
role primarily involves bulk fabric orders, with occasional garment orders.
Key responsibilities include negotiation
of bulk prices, quality standard and testing requirement coordination with
suitable suppliers, monitoring and follow-up from sample fabric / colors to
bulk fabric shipment or garment shipment.
Key Responsibilities:
Part 1: Bulk fabric orders
·
Send Q&V to potential fabric suppliers
for bulk fabric prices checking / negotiation.
·
Review
CR conditions for each potential fabric suppliers and coordinate with the CR
team for necessary guidance or training to suppliers.
·
Share
tech packs, testing requirements, and quality standards to suppliers prior to
order placement.
·
Finalize
suppliers for bulk orders and initiate bulk follow-up procedures.
·
Ensure
timely fabric booking from garment mills in Bangladesh or Pakistan; ensure
fabric PI is correctly issued from fabric mill(s) to garment mills. Obtain garment mill counter-signed PI and
tightly follow up LC
opening status.
·
Work
with fabric suppliers on all production facilities from yarn, greige till bulk
dyeing; submit production facility sheets for to CR team for final approval.
·
Push fabric supplier to submit color lab dips(L/D’s), Y/D handloom or
trial jacquard patterns, AOP S/O and bulk fabric qualities for counter checking
and approval. Proactively track feedback and comments from Product Management
(PM) teams in HQ Germany.
·
Coordinate
and monitor sample yardage for size sets, photo samples, customer samples, and
testing samples to be sent out to garment mill in time.
·
Submit
1st bulk dye-lot to PM and
push for prompt approval, meanwhile also obtain the composition testing result
and comment on after washing appearance especially for knitted qualities.
·
Track
bulk production status closely with fabric suppliers; arrange prompt QC random
picking up from greige to finished bulk fabrics for internal testing purpose;
arrange QC for final inspections (FRI) or 3rd party inspection when needed,
ensure FRI pass before shipment.
·
Arrange
internal testing at BV/TUV/ITS/Hohenstein etc. as per agreed testing parameters
/ standards on test plan, ensure positive report available before any bulk
fabric shipment.
·
Send QC random picked bulk fabrics to PM in HQ/BD, obtain approval from
HQ on bulk fabrics before shipment.
·
Report
any failures on FRI or testing promptly to the Dept Head with accurate and
timely information; coordinate corrective actions with internal teams for
quality assurance as well as the supply chain for ensuring smooth workflow and
on-time delivery.
·
Share
shipping documents with garment mills for checking and approval, updated bank
documents sending status and AWB to garment mill.
·
Coordinate
and negotiate solutions for claims (shortage, color shade, quality issues) with
fabric suppliers and garment mills. Ask
for support and involvement from head of the team and production team from BD
or Pakistan when necessary.
·
Attend
meetings with BD and Pakistan to review updated sample fabric sending status or
bulk fabric production status / delivery plan.
Maintain accurate records.
·
Maintain
effective communication with Shanghai, BD fabric team, buying teams, production
teams, HQ PM, and customer support teams.
Part 2: Bulk Garment
Orders
·
When CN garment supplier taking
garment orders, whole garment order following up will be handled also from CN
side. Garment order is occasionally, production site is most likely out of CN like
in BD, probably Laos, Cambodia etc.
·
Q&V should be sent directly
to garment suppliers, they will use their own sourced fabric suppliers. Most of
the bulk fabric following up work will be done from garment suppliers themselves;
the Senior Merchandiser is required to follow the following steps on fabric
part:
? Color L/D,
S/O or Handloom /quality to HQ PM and track comment.
? 1st
dye-lot and bulk send to HQ for approval.
? QC random
picking up from greige and bulk fabrics, QC final inspection on bulk fabrics.
? Ensure
fabric internal testing pass and QC FRI pass.
? CR approval
processing on both fabric production facilities and garment mill.

Initially check bulk trims, if
acceptable, send to HQ for approval, trace comments tightly.
·
Monitor and follow up the status
on different types of garment samples as per Time Schedule (T&A), ensure
all samples to be submitted in time in perfect conditions. Trace timely comment
on different type of samples.
·
Work closely with garment
supplier on their production plan, visit garment mill and arrange PP meeting, assign
QC inline inspections in time. In case garment production site in BD, handover
to BD production team.
·
Monitor tightly bulk garment
quality and production daily output status.
·
Work closely with HQ PM team
and correspondent team and also with garment mill, arrange 3rd party
sample picking up and FRI, ensure all testing pass and garment FRI pass.
·
Bulk garment shipping schedule
approval from HQ, ensure bulk garments shipment in time with full order qty,
shipping documents to be checked before presenting original copies to bank.
·
Ensure all requested
certificates like Oeko-tex, GRS, Lenzing Modal, Lycra etc has been issued out
by the given timeline.
Requirements:
- University graduate
- Minimum 5-7
years solid experience relevant field, both woven and knit. - Rich technical knowledge of garment
manufacturing, fabric properties and construction. - Proactive and
result-oriented attitude. - Close team
working spirit. - Able to
communicate effectively with all levels of staffs. - Keep good
communication / relationship with fabric and garment suppliers. - Ability to
multi-tasks and work in a fast-paced environment. - Willing to
accept adjustment or redistribution of tasks when needed. - Familiar with
testing and certification standard (GRS / Oeko-tex / Step) - Knowledge of
social compliance (BSCI, ZDHC report, chemical inventory from wet facility
is preferred). - Good command
of spoken & written English and Putonghua. - Occasional
business travels domestic or abroad to South-east Asia when required.

professional attitude toward colleagues and suppliers.
