Microscopy Live Imaging Visualization and Analysis Position (Long Term/Permanent position)
Laboratory of Yuval Rinkevich Ph.D
A position is available for a highly skilled Microscopy Specialist (either Technician/Postdoc/Research associate) to manage and apply advanced intravital live imaging microscopy. The candidate will ideally encompass multi-modal data collection including live 3D timelapse imaging, data analysis, theory, and predictions to understand cell states and cell state transitions in living tissues and live animals. The mission is to advance our fundamental cellular and molecular understanding of tissue/organ regeneration dynamics.
The candidate will need to closely collaborate with a team of scientists, to achieve the Institute for Regenerative Biology and Medicine’s shared objectives. The ideal candidate brings previous experience with multi-photon live imaging, and light microscopy approaches for both imaging and active interfacing with living cells and organisms. The candidate will also train and assist student and postdoc users of the microscopy facility, helping them to design their imaging experiments (e.g. choosing microscopy modalities, sample preparation), maximize quality of imaging data, and consult on image visualization and analysis. The candidate will facilitate scheduling microscope use, and also connect with vendors to ensure that microscopes are well-maintained. The candidate will also have the opportunity to design custom microscopy setups for specific imaging applications.
REQUIRED:
A minimum of two years of experience in a research laboratory environment and intravital imaging microscopy (which may include experience gained as an undergraduate); self-motivation and demonstrated ability to work both independently and as part of a team; attention to detail, excellent organizational, analytical, customer service, interpersonal, and verbal and written communication skills; and an understanding of laboratory safety.
Develop and apply cutting-edge image analysis workflows and visualization pipelines apply and integrate advanced image processing, computer vision, and data visualization techniques to advance the field of cell science.
Deep knowledge of microscopy imaging modalities, computational microscopy techniques, and image artifacts
Extensive experience with 3D live-cell and timelapse imaging techniques and data analysis
Experience with computer graphics, 3D visualization software (e.g., Blender, Paraview, Napari), and developing procedural animations for scientific data representation
Experience with descriptive modeling and statistical analysis to interpret quantitative image data and generate biological insights
Experience with deep learning-based segmentation algorithms, object detection, and generative modeling for biological images
The lab is located at the newly built institute for Regenerative Biology and Medicine, at the Chinese Institutes for Medical Research (CIMR, Beijing).
