Position Overview

Systems Engineer is a key technical role supporting the global digitalization of our manufacturing operations. Based in Xiamen, China, this position is responsible for designing, developing, maintaining, and supporting systems infrastructure—including network, hardware, databases, and system software—with a focus on enabling digitalization, automation, and connectivity within manufacturing systems.
This role will operate in a co-development model, working closely with teams in NA, APAC, and EMEA regions. Strong English communication skills are essential. The role will lead technical initiatives that enable data integration, system functionality, analytics, and automation across production sites.
The ideal candidate combines strong project management discipline, SAFe methodology experience, and hands-on technical acumen working with systems, software development, and automation. This individual will also be able to step into the details when needed to unblock progress and maintain momentum. whether that means debugging a system issue, supporting validation, or configuring a test setup on the manufacturing floor.

Essential Functions
· Design, build, and support robust system architectures that connect multiple production and business systems across global sites.
· Develop and maintain applications using SQL, Python, C#, Java, HTML PowerShell 7 and Blazor.
· Strong foundation in Azure cloud services (e.g., App Services, Functions, Azure SQL, Data Factory) for cloud-based system development and deployment.
· Enable integration with OT hardware: PLCs, barcode scanners, RFID readers, sensors.
· Establish and implement SCADA infrastructure and configuration for MFG sites. Incorporate automated solutions, data reporting, and other equipment and process flows into SCADA, as needed for project plans.
· Collaborate with internal stakeholders, system owners, and IT teams globally to ensure scalable, secure, and standardized solution development.
· Collaborate on data, communication, and programming needs for large-scale digitization and automation projects and independently support software solutions from concept to deployment.
· Maintain documentation and ensure solutions meet regulatory, quality, and security standards.
· Stationed in Xiamen, China, with a working schedule that supports coordination across NA, APAC, EMEA regions.
· Support audits and compliance activities for quality and IT systems.
· Own and drive key global digitalization epics from concept through deployment, ensuring objectives, deliverables, and validation milestones are achieved.
· Facilitate collaboration across global teams (engineering, manufacturing, IT, automation, data, and QA) to ensure aligned execution.
· Perform other duties as assigned.

Competencies
· Proficiency in multiple programming languages SQL, Java, Python.
· foundation in Azure webservices (Cloud computing infrastructure, data management and analytics, application development and deployment, security and compliance).
· Familiarity with a regulated manufacturing environment.
· Excellent analytical and creative problem-solving skills required.
· Excellent people skills required. Ability to collaborate across departments and engage many different stakeholders.
· Interpersonal communication skills and ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
· Knowledge of network architectures for OT/IT integration.

Desired Qualifications
Required Education:
· Bachelor’s degree in computer science, systems engineering, or related field.
· 3-5 years of experience in industrial software development system integration, or manufacturing IT support

Preferred Education:
· Advanced degree in Engineering or related field
Experience:
· Require strong programming skills in SQL, Python, C#, Java, HTML and experience with Blazor or similar front-end frameworks.
· Demonstrated experience with Microsoft Azure, especially in infrastructure, application development, and data pipelines.
· Familiarity with MES, SCADA, or ERP integration in a manufacturing environment is highly desirable.
· Experience working with hardware on the shop floor (e.g., scanners, sensors, PLCs, RFID, IoT devices).
· Strong problem-solving and debugging skills across full-stack solutions.
· Strong English communication skills – both written and verbal.
· Ability to work independently in a multi-site, multicultural environment.
