Position: Downstream Process Development, Scientist I~Senior Scientist
BeOne is seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual in the Downstream Process Development team at Shanghai site. The successful candidate will contribute to the process development of various biologics modalities and in close collaboration with other CMC function teams to help advance BeOne pipelines. The ideal candidate will have expertise in all common downstream unit operations in protein purification and conjugation technologies, as well strong critical thinking skills, and an ability to design, execute, and draw conclusions from experimental studies.
Responsibilities (including but not limited to):
1). Perform hands-on experiments, such as filtration/chromatography/buffer preparation, to develop robust downstream processes for various biologics modalities at lab-scale, such as antibodies, bi/tri-specifics antibodies and antibody drug conjugates.
2). Perform high-throughput purification processes to obtain sufficient proteins to meet the need of key stakeholders.
3). Complete electronic experiment records (ELN), development reports and protocols according to programs/platform requirement.
4). Independently prepare and present experimental findings at department, project team and management meetings.
5). Regularly maintain relevant purification systems & other lab equipment. Support laboratory-related activities, such as procurement, inventory maintenance, lab clean-up, etc..
6). Manage process development activities and tech transfer to support process scale up, pilot run, and work closely with GMP manufacturing to ensure successful production activities across all programs.
8). Stay current with emerging trends in the industry and introduce new technologies to improve current workflow and expand existing capabilities.
Qualifications:
1). Master’s degree with at least 2 years of relevant industry experience.
2). Hands-on experience and knowledge of protein purification using chromatography, multiple clarification/filtration processes and other relevant downstream technologies, and skilled operation of state-of-art instrumentation, such as AKTA systems or TECAN systems. Experience of antibody-drug conjugate process development is a plus.
3). Demonstrated capability for problem solving of complex scientific problems with appropriately designed experimentations and demonstrated ability to perform experiments independently.
4). In-depth understanding of design of experiments (DoE) with statistic software and data analysis is a plus.
5). Experience with English writing and reviewing development reports, SOPs and batch record.
6). Scientific creativity, collaborative ability, and excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential.
