Formally established in June 2022, the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (Guangzhou)(HKUST(GZ)) is a cooperatively-run university between the Chinese mainland and the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region. HKUST(GZ) has obtained approval from the Ministry of Education (MoE) and become the first legally-independent educational institution co-established by the Mainland and Hong Kong since the announcement and implementation of the “Outline Development Plan for the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area” and the “Overall Plan for Deepening Globally Oriented Comprehensive Co-operation amongst Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao in Nansha of Guangzhou”. With a spirit of pioneering innovation, HKUST(GZ) charts new territories in cross-disciplinary education and explores new frontiers in pedagogies, aiming to serve as a role model of the mainland-Hong Kong integrated educational development and become a world-famous high-level university, endeavoring to nurture future-oriented, high-level and innovative talents.
In response to the increasingly complex challenges faced by the rapidly changing world, HKUST(GZ) adopts a brand-new and cross-disciplinary academic structure featuring “Hub” and “Thrust” to substitute the conventional one characterized by “school” and “department”, facilitating cross-disciplinary integration while vigorously developing emerging and frontier disciplines. This is a groundbreaking move in the higher education community across the globe.
The Systems Hub hosts the following four Thrusts: Bioscience and Biomedical Engineering, Intelligent Transportation, Robotics and Autonomous Systems, and Smart Manufacturing. These highly integrated and interlaced disciplines not only emphasize theoretical framework and experimental validation, but also attend to computational modeling and simulation. Research highlights of the Systems Hub cover neuroscience and synthetic biology, multimodal transportation and information fusion, embodied AI and human-machine interaction, additive manufacturing and the implementation of Industry 4.0.
Duties
The appointee will provide administrative support in the Systems Hub. Major responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
1. Support faculty recruitment and onboarding processes, and participate in academic-administrative recruitment tasks, including document management and assistance with talent program applications.
2. Perform administrative and logistical support tasks for the Hub daily operations, including but not limited to assisting with publicity and organizing events, coordinating activities, and managing financial processes such as reimbursement and procurement;
3. Provide administrative support for logistical needs of Hub faculty and staff;
4. Liaise with internal and external parties in response to inquiries and requests on Hub;
5. Perform other duties as assigned by the Hub superior.
Work outside office hours and on weekends may be required occasionally. Shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend the interview and written test.

This is a Mainland appointment, and the appointee will be offered a contract by HKUST(GZ) entity in accordance with the Mainland labor laws and regulations.
